Project
We decided to host different events that all promote mental health and wellness. At times, we don't realize what we do is form of self-care. Other times, we need to expand our toolkit and learn new skills and gain new hobbies. We were able to do two events per month.

Meetings: We met every Tuesday after-school. We discussed the upcoming events, and past events from things that went well and areas for growth.
Membership : Everyone was welcome to join the club no matter sexual orientation and gender.
Process: During the winter break, our assignment was to think of events in which our peers and ourselves would participate. During the retreat, we returned and shared our ideas, our vision of the event, and how it ties to mental health and wellness. In the next meeting, we discussed if the events were feasible. At the next meeting, we agreed to do two monthly events and created an outline of events, dates, and locations. One event would consist on a smaller scale, and the second one on a larger scale. We are also students and have other obligations that we want to be mindful of what we can do.
Promotion: We created flyers that we posted on social media and tagged our school and other entities in our school to assist in reposting. We created large posters that we placed all over campus. We made morning announcements throughout the entire week before the event. On the day of the event, we would announce it to our classes and other clubs we are a part of. We bought an advertisement section in our school newspaper: The Oarsman.

Our findings: We added all the surveys to see our impact on our school. The largest group of students in attendance at our events were Freshman. The students identified that their highest level of stress was three. Students reported that the environment that stresses them out is school.
Impact: We received a lot of compliments from students and staff about our events. They mentioned enjoying the activities because they were new to them and could keep the items we gave out and what they created. In addition, they enjoyed listening to music, a place to hang out with friends, and the ability to do something. We are glad to hear that the events helped students de-stress, and creating a positive school climate.
